Limestone Countertops

StoneOne Countertops - Picture of Counter Top

The creamy neutrals of limestone countertops add a stylish, elegant touch to any home or office. This naturally formed, sedimentary rock has many of the same qualities as marble, but without the veining. Because of its susceptibility to acids, staining, and heat, StoneOne does not recommend using limestone for kitchen countertops. Instead, we recommend limestone for these other beautiful applications:

  • Bathroom vanities and countertops
  • Fireplace mantels
  • Jacuzzi surrounds
  • Shower surrounds

To keep your limestone countertops attractive and glowing for years to come, protect them from staining by wiping up spills immediately and always using coasters with bottles and drinks (even water glasses). Limestone does scratch easily, so StoneOne recommends protecting your vanities and countertops with trivets and coasters. Limestone tends to be an extremely porous stone, so StoneOne pre-seals all limestone countertops prior to installation reduce the likelihood of etching or staining. We also stress the importance of periodically resealing your limestone counters with a penetrating stone sealer to maintain stain-resistance. However, if your countertop has become stained, StoneOne does provide limestone counter stain removal services to help restore its original luster.
